December 2012

It's been a busy few weeks at Short Term with lots of downtown happenings - handing out three huge tubs of candy at Halloween, helping runners and walkers warm up after the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving, and today, handing out hot cocoa after the Christmas parade. (although it was actually kind of warm for what we're usually used to!) For the rest of December, it's going to be a calm, laid-back atmosphere at the gallery. We want everyone to feel welcome to relax and enjoy looking at art.

First Friday is on December 7th.  The gallery has a variety of artists showing, and a few more gift type items for holiday shopping. Singer Nancy Ames will be performing, and you can sit and enjoy with some great finger foods, or stroll leisurely to check out the art.   First Friday gallery shows will be nearby on Main Street including Petersons, Dancing Elephant, Atelier Anders, Mad Habit, and around the corner at Crossroads there is a special show by the Threadbenders fiber artists. The Outta the Box Bazaar with about two dozen fine art and craft vendors will be happening just two doors down at the VAOI Center on Friday night and Saturday.  It's a great time to enjoy art and meet artists. Here's wishing you a happy, un-hectic December!

Waiting for the parade. The weather was warm!
